Illinois Enters Phase 4 – What This Means for Freeburg

Illinois has entered Phase 4 of the Governor’s Restore Illinois plan. Under these new guidelines we are inching closer to being fully open.

What does this mean for Freeburg?

Restaurants are now able to allow indoor dining at 25% capacity in addition to the outdoor accommodations that several of our members have had available. This is a welcome change for all restaurants, particularly those who have been unable to provide outdoor seating.

Gatherings of less than 50 people are also being permitted, provided that social distancing is being practiced. The Freeburg Chamber of Commerce will make a decision soon about when to restart in-person meetings.

Our meetings have been on hiatus during the lockdown, with the Chamber Board of Directors meeting via Zoom. This has unfortunately forced us to cancel and/or postpone several events, including the annual FCC/Freeburg Rotary BBQ and the Chamber Pool Night.

With our member businesses and Village Pool now open for business with restrictions, please come out and support our community. Stay safe, please follow any safety guidelines that businesses ask of you when visiting their establishments. Shop small, shop local, and shop Freeburg.

Freeburg Chamber Pool Night – Chamber News June 2018

On Monday, June 9 we will be switching things up for our monthly meeting. This will be the first ever Chamber Night at the Pool. We will have a light BBQ in the pavilion outside the Freeburg Pool at 6pm, with swimming from 7-9. The event is open to Chamber members and their families, so bring the kids and enjoy the pool! Please RSVP to freeburgchambersecretary@gmail.com or franksrogus@aol.com so we can plan accordingly. As always, volunteers would be greatly appreciated.

We also post our Spotlights on our Facebook and LinedIn pages, which we use to promote Chamber events and Chamber members.

The month of June was a great one for the Freeburg Chamber. Earlier in the month, we welcomed Country Mart to Freeburg with a fantastically well-attended ribbon cutting. We are thrilled to finally have a grocery store in Freeburg again and wish Country Mart the best of luck as they get settled in.

The annual Freeburg Chamber of Commerce/Freeburg Rotary BBQ was a great success. Freeburg Mayor Seth Speiser spoke to the attendees and gave updates on several building projects the Village of Freeburg has in the pipeline. Thanks again to Frank Srogus and everyone who worked on the food and setup/cleanup to make this event possible.

The Chamber will have a float in the Freeburg Homecoming Parade. The FCHS art department is creating a mural for the float, and we will have volunteers hanging out promotional items from members. If you have freebees, literature, or swag you would like handed out, contact either of the emails above. We’re only a month and a half away, so please don’t procrastinate if you want your items handed out.

Save the date: the next Freeburg Chamber Luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, September 4. More information will be made available closer to the event. The last two have been very well received and we look forward to another stimulating networking event in September.

Welcome New Members: Eckert’s Inc., Amann Appraisal Services, Wish Upon a Star With Tabitha, and Truckeria Del Valle.
